Most fools are scared to use anything but Honda. Honda parts are built for factory applications. Not for performance. You need to use a bearing that will handle both boost and high rpm's. You better do some calling to some import engine builders and ask the pros thier thoughts.

have you ever opened up an issue of circle track and see advertisements for V8 cranks modified with modified crank journals to honda specs? people spend alot of money on those things for a reason, that being to use a honda bearing.

Just an opinion.. I would stay w/ honda, if you are looking for different clearances you can use a different bearing size. Honda bearings are color coded. They have brown, red, green, and others. As for food for thought, the difference between each color is 5 microns. Honda motors inherently run much tighter clearances than domestics. But as I stated earlier, honda bearings are very very good. If you look to another bearing thou stay w/ a tri metal. And if you still insist on going w/ aftermarket, clevite also uses trimetal. They are just slightly less expensive than honda bearings. My guess is that they make the bearings for honda
